Portland is known as Beervana and the Microbrew Mecca of the Planet so I thought I’d make a google map of all the various breweries here in the main city region (not suburbs). The map shows breweries only; if it’s a public house or a pub without a brewery, it’s not on the list. I know that eliminates a lot of really great pubs from the list, but we can always create another one with no spared expenses.
The ones with red markers are the ones that I think visitors would enjoy the most.

1From first glance, it is a great map, yet we’re missing a few Breweries downtown – Tugboat, Rogue, Full Sail (waterfront.) Also, it lists Green Dragon. While it is a great pub, I didn’t realize they were brewing yet. Are they?
Also, where are all the McMenamin breweries..or are they still breweries? I though Fulton (John’s Landing) and Barley Mill (Hawthorne) and Highland (SE 182nd) still had in-house brew operations.
Great map. Well done. There is a new brewery opening on NE Broadway by the Rose Garden this quarter. Should be cool.

2dieselboi,
I knew it would be confusing but I looked into it a little. Rogue is a distillery in town and they get their beer from the Newport location. Green Dragon I thought was brewing, at least their site says they do. I just added Tugboat and Full Sail. Somehow I missed those. Thanks.
The McMenamins breweries don’t all have pubs and I’ve checked into each location to find out which ones do.
Thanks for the comment. it’s nice to see you on my blog.

3I thought you’d left off Tugboat because what they brew can hardly be called beer . . . I kid! I kid!
I haven’t been in for a while, but a few years back their beers were worse than my worst beginner’s homebrews. They always had a reasonable price on guest taps though.
BTW, the Fulton Pub off Macadam does brew (including an excellent chili beer last summer!).
And Philadelphia’s on Milwaukie (http://www.phillypdx.com/brewery.html) brews too; “Oregon’s smallest licensed microbrewery”!

4Ah, I see Philadelphia’s is on the map (but not on the list above yet).
And Fulton pub is up there too.
Just ignore me ;-)

5Man, I barely scratched the surface of Portland’s staggering beer list when I visited last year. Good thing I’m moving in August! I’ll be treating this like an RPG quest list after I get settled. Thanks man!
